5 Patterns That Keep You STUCK
... and how to get unstuck!
Pattern 1: STUCK “My age”, “My diagnosis”,“My depression”, “My arthritis”, “My busy calendar”... Whatever you claim as your own becomes part of you. When something is part of you it makes it much more difficult to change. It is no longer separate from you, it is part of your identity. Instead of changing a pattern that you have, you now have to change your very self.
UNSTUCK Stop saying “my problem” is what is preventing me from success, and start saying “That problem is an old habit and I can easily change my habits! This gives you back your personal power and will allow you to choose to change no matter what.
Pattern 2: STUCK “I am a perfectionist” There is actually no such thing as perfect. If you continue to claim you are a perfectionist then you have the lowest standards of all. Perfectionism is a habit of thought that will keep you spinning in analysis or inaction.
UNSTUCK Start recognizing when you are spinning in “perfectionism”, then tell yourself “DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT!”
Pattern 3: STUCK “I need to keep thinking about HOW to be successful.” Thinking without taking action robs your dreams from you. The road that you begin on to get to any destination is NOT the same road that you end up on at your destination. Thinking there is one best way to become successful keeps you right where you are.
UNSTUCK Take small actions daily towards your goals and you will course-correct along the way. All action leads to feedback. If something doesn’t work, then do something different tomorrow. Thinking plus daily action leads to success!
Pattern 4:
STUCK “I will try”. The energy of trying allows for an escape from your efforts. Trying gives you a reason to quit. It’s a signal to yourself that if it doesn’t feel good, or you meet with any resistance, then you can stop. Trying is for dabblers, and dabblers don’t succeed.
UNSTUCK Adopt the mindset of your Superself who tells you “I will succeed NO MATTER WHAT!” As you condition this part of your mind, you will begin to enjoy challenges and resistance as you know they make you stronger.
Pattern 5:
STUCK “I always self-sabotage my efforts”. Why bother putting in your full effort if you don’t really believe that you will succeed in the long run? Self-sabotage is effort minus belief in the value of the effort. This keeps you in a loop, like a hamster on a wheel.
UNSTUCK Ask yourself “What must I believe about myself and my dreams in order to take consistent action until I reach my goals?” Do you need to believe that you are worthy of your dreams? Do you need to believe that you are capable or enough? Take on the belief that you can achieve whatever you most desire and that you were born to do so!
